About Me

Grace Gowan has been practicing in the field of bodywork since 2004. She is a certified massage therapist located in Mountain View California. Grace is also a Healing Touch™ Practitioner Apprentice. In August 2008, she will have completed her one year apprenticeship and will apply for her certification. She is also certified in Trigger Point Release an Emphatic Approach™.
After several years of witnessing the effects of stress in the workplace, Grace made the life changing career move from working in the Medical field to become professionally trained as a body worker. Working in the Medical field observing stress related illness, chronic pain, anxiety and depression as well as medications prescribed to treat these conditions was overwhelming. She needed to find a way to help. Grace believed there had to be more natural ways to work with people. She looked for alternative methods that could stand alone as well as support Medicine.
When working with Grace you will experience professionalism and compassion through her healing touch. Her many levels of training in energy work and therapeutic massage have allowed for the creation of a unique style. Her approach is that of meeting the client where they are. With a deep presence and connection she holds space for them, listening to what they share, both verbally and through their body speaking to her. This experience creates a deep sense of awareness for the client as well as for her.
Grace received her massage certification through the Body Therapy center in Palo Alto, California. She received her Esalen certification in Big Sur, California. Her skills have developed further with the study of various modalities of bodywork and energetic therapies including; orthopedic, Trigger Point Release an Emphatic Approach™, Reiki and Aromatherapy.
