Hi Meghan,

I really enjoyed reading about all the things you do. We have a lot of similarities. (I see you have an interest in websites.....I went with the blog format because it's easy to update, and the more you update, the more often Google finds you in a search! You might want to look into starting a blog.)

Why I love qigong.....wow....Lots of reasons! But, to keep it manageable:

1- I very strongly believe in the mind-body connection. I think that if we could all get beyond our education and conditioning that we need a doctor to provide us with health solutions, we could effect our own healing through visualization and the intention of creating excellent health.

2 - I love teaching qigong because in a group, I believe that the accumulated qi/chi is beneficial for all the people who are there and that when a group like that is focused on the same outcome (i.e. good health) the participants all receive additional benefits from the increased energy and intention toward wellness.

3- It really restores a person's power to point out that qigong is the Self-Healing aspect of Chinese medicine. We all have the power to self-heal, we just need to take back that power which includes really taking responsibility for who we are and what we do and how we do it.

Hope that answers your question! :-)

Good luck with your acupuncture program. :-)

Profile Information

About Me
Hello! I'm a midwest mommy and spiritual searcher. My healing studies have included herbalism, massage, energy work, and plant spirit medicine. My interests are in holisitc nutrition, energy balance using the five element theory, meditation, and teaching others herbal medicine making. My most recent notch on the belt has been becoming a consultant of the Akashic Records. I am currently in school, and working towards applying to an Acupuncture program.
More Information
I have interest in getting a website up and running. I would like to be able inform the general population about the healing and transformitive powers of the Akashic records in an accessable language. At home, I am interested in teaching others (especially children) about local medicinal and edible plants. I have studied herbalism in Colorado extensively: As well as completing a 500 hr. program of herbal studies and aromatherapy, I have had close relationships with 2 mentors and working herbalists. Living in the midwest again has opened my eyes to more opportunities for learning and wildcrafting.
My Business
I am currently accepting clients as an Akashic Consultant. I do one-hour long sessions in my home and over the phone. I am also undertaking the start-up of a mindfulness meditation program at my local community college (Kirkwood). I invite families into my home to share in ethical wildcrafting and herbal medicine making.
More
I am interested in meeting people throughout the country who are successfully bringing their spiritual and holistic practices to the mainstream. I am also interested in connecting to those who have a vision of, or are already living in, intentional community and sustainability. I hope to connect to more potential clients in the field of Akashic work, and am open to guidance from those who have found success in their given fields.

Herbal Workshop

I held a workshop in my home today. I had invited friends and family to learn about making an elderberry syrup to use during the cold and flu season. The format I had in my mind would be fantastic: Harvesting berries from the backyard. Preparing them while sitting in discussion about the ethics and spirituality neccessary for successful herbalism, medicine making mindfully, and using the "simmer time" to reference various herbal books and compiling information on a board. Everyone would write do… Continue
