A little about me and what I do:

The ways I serve you:

Stress Management Consultant creating personalized programs of holistic techniques using proven tools such as Progressive Relaxation, breathing exercises, mindfulness, simple stretches, and nutrition for you stressed-out people who have stopped seeing stress as a status symbol and recognize it for what it is: a serious threat to your health and wellness. Consultations available by phone, internet, or in person.

Instructor in meditation workshops for stress reduction, leading you through six styles of meditation in graduated degrees of activity from walking to seated meditation giving you the opportunity to find the style that is perfect for you.

Instructor in two styles of Health Qigong Exercises, Eight Pieces of Brocade (Baduanjin) and Five Animals Frolic (Wuqinxi), for your holistic health and wellness. The third style I teach is Eight Healing Sounds of Yin Style Ba Gua: while this is a fantastic practice, it is not one of the official Health Qigong Exercises sanctioned by the Chinese government.

Leader of Mindfulness Mini-retreats (one-half day) for stress reduction - includes a qigong practice, guided meditation, and mandala coloring. And food - don't underestimate the power of food!

My goal is simple though not necessarily easy:

I want to help you reduce stress and attain excellent health using holistic techniques and mind-body tools.

I can spend all day telling you how great meditation and qigong are, and what these practices have done for me and my clients and students, but only when you experience feeling great, sleeping well, and being happy for yourself will you truly appreciate these powerful and life-affirming techniques.

I can't add much more to this article than to say it's another stellar example of the healing power of the mind.

I believe this is the direction health care will take, harnessing your inherent power to heal, but only when you insist on using these methods will your healthcare provider get on board and work with you… Continue

Three Ancient Qigong healers on breathing

When talking about stress relief, how you breathe is just as important as what you breathe. Here are a few short excerpts showing how long qigong healers have been teaching of the relationship between good health and proper breathing.

Progressive Relaxation Technique

What it is:

Progressive relaxation is an excellent, natural practice that gives you the control to relax all your tense muscles, and practice deep breathing at the same time.

If you find yourself becoming tense and uncomfortable at home or work during the day, either mentally, emotionally, or physically, you can do the steps of the technique that address the area of your tension without performing the entire routine. For example, if mental tension has caused a headache, you would want t… Continue

Your Mind: The Natural Cure For What Ails You

This is a reprint of my own article as it was published in the June/July 2006 issue of "Qi Dao," the newsletter of the World Institute for Self Healing, and published on my blog Live Stress-Free ~ Naturally! on October 17, 2006. ~Michelle~ http://bewellwithmichelle.blogspot.com/

Why is it that most people have no difficulty believing the mind can cause illness through negative thoughts and emotions, but won’t believe the mind can cause wellness through positive thoughts and emotions? Have you… Continue
